J. Lamar Peacock, Jr., CPA

Lamar is a 1975 graduate of Birmingham Southern College. He joined the firm later that same year and became a partner in the firm in 1984.

Lamar’s practice includes providing accounting services to closely held businesses in a variety of industries, including attestation services that encompass audits, reviews and compilations. In addition his practice includes the preparation of various federal and state income tax returns on behalf of many closely held businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Lamar also represents individual clients in the areas income, estate and gift planning and compliance. He has served as Board Member on a number of local not-for-profit organizations. Lamar is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants.

D. Grover Cleveland, CPA, CVA

Grover graduated from the University of North Alabama in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He started his career with the firm in August of 1977 and became a partner In 1984. Grover provides services to privately owned companies in many industries, including automotive, manufacturing, industrial foodservice, construction, medical, legal, retail, wholesale, insurance, entertainment and not- for- profit. Services provided includes audits, reviews, compilations, corporate and individual taxes and consulting in financial issues and operations analysis. He also provides Business Valuations Services for mergers and acquisitions, buy/sale agreements, estate planning, and matrimonial issues.

Grover holds memberships in American Institute of Certified Public Accounts, The Alabama Society of Certified Public Accounts and National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

J. Thomas Grainger, CPA

Managing Partner

Tom is a 1976 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has been with the Firm since 1977 and a Partner since 1984.

Tom’s practice encompasses serving closely held businesses, non-profit entities, and individual clients. He is experienced in representation of clients in the areas of income taxes, financial reporting, securing financing for businesses, forecasting and projection, mergers and acquisitions and estate tax planning.

Tom is an active member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, President of the Birmingham Chapter of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Accounting Advisory Council of the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

H. B. Lee, III, CPA

Tax Partner

H.B. has been in public accounting since 1992, specializing in tax since 1995. He began his career at Coopers & Lybrand, working in both the business assurance and tax lines of business. Before joining Horton, Lee, Burnett, Peacock, Cleveland and Grainger, P.C. in 1999, H.B. specialized as a tax manager in the governmental and tax-exempt area for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLC, serving clients primarily in healthcare and higher education, along with various public charities and private foundations. H.B. currently serves as a tax partner for the firm, serving clients in a variety of industries, including real estate, construction, healthcare, consulting, distribution, not-for-profit, and various service industries. His emphasis is working with closely held businesses and their owners in the areas of general business consulting, tax and estate planning, and succession planning. H.B. also specializes in providing bond rebate services to the firm’s tax-exempt and governmental clients.

H.B. is a CPA in Alabama and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Auburn University and Masters of Tax Accounting from the University of Alabama. His professional affiliations and civic activities include being a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, Advisory Board member of Camp Smile-A-Mile (public charity for children with cancer), and Deacon and Men’s Ministry Team Chairman of Brookwood Baptist Church.

Patricia H. Oh, CPA, CVA

Patricia is a Partner of Horton, Lee, Burnett, Peacock, Cleveland and Grainger who joined the firm in December 1990. She provides auditing and accounting, estate and tax planning, business valuation and consulting services for both individual clients and businesses in construction, manufacturing, foodservice, distribution, real estate development, and professional services. She also specializes in financial and compliance auditing and accounting services for not-for-profit entities, governmental units, and private and state employee benefit plans.

Patricia is a CPA in Alabama and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Montevallo and Masters of Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Patricia is also a CVA (Certified Valuation Analyst) who provides business valuation services for clients in conjunction with estate/gift tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, stockholder buy-in/buyout, and succession planning. Her professional affiliations and civic activities include being a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, past member of the board of trustees of the Living Word Church, member of the board of trustees of Institute for Foundational Learning, Inc. Patricia is fluent in English and Chinese, and leads a small group at Church of the Highlands which reaches to the Asian community.

Brian W. Burnett, CPA

Brian received his Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration in 1998 and received his Master of Accountancy in 1999 from the University of Alabama. He has been with the Firm of Horton, Lee, Burnett, Peacock, Cleveland & Grainger since 1999 and a Partner since 2006.

Brian serves a wide variety of clients such as closely held businesses, non-profit entities, as well as individuals. He services clients in specialized industries such as construction, charitable organizations, health care and country clubs.

Brian is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and volunteers with Magic Moments.
