Firm History
In 1967, what would later become Horton, Lee, Burnett, Peacock, Cleveland, & Grainger, was established by two founding partners, Cooper Horton, Jr. and H.B. Lee, Jr. These men shared a dream of developing a prominent accounting firm, one distinguished in the Birmingham business community for its excellence in technical knowledge and client service.
With a solid beginning and a steady growth rate, Horton and Lee were quickly able to add partners Lamar Peacock, Grover Cleveland, and Thomas Grainger. In subsequent years, and as a result of our steady growth rate, the firm was able to add partners H.B. Lee III, Patricia Oh and Brian Burnett— all Certified Public Accounts who shared their vision of excellence. With professional and support staff members, HLB has become one of the top level CPA firms in Birmingham, Alabama.
